Tata Motors has finally unveiled the eagerly anticipated seven-seater Harrier, a.k.a the Safari. The company marked the occasion by rolling out the first new Safari from its plant in Pune. The most notable change on the Safari from the Harrier will be the increased length (60mm), amongst a few other design elements and features. The Gravitas, which was the codename for the Safari, was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.
Furthermore, the homegrown automaker has also launched the Tata Safari Imaginator suite, which allows potential customers to check out the SUV with the help of Augmented Reality (AR) from the comfort of their homes. So far, no official images of the interiors have been shared, so it’s hard to predict what exactly will be different in the Safari in comparison to the Harrier. As far as powertrains are concerned, the Safari is likely to get a 2.0-litre, turbo-diesel which churns out 170 bhp and 35.69 kgm of torque. The aforementioned engine will come mated to a six-speed manual and six-speed torque converter automatic.
Once it does arrive, the Safari will lock horns with the seven-seat MG Hector Plus and XUV500.
