Refreshed in September last year, the Etios Liva hatchback now gets a dual-tone paintjob, which was earlier made available in the pre-facelift car as a limited edition. Only the top trims, that is V and VX, get it, with prices starting at Rs 5.94 lakh for petrol and Rs 7.24 lakh for the diesel version.

Apart from the mentioned dual-tone colour scheme (in three combinations: Ultramarine Blue, Vermilion Red, and Super White), the Etios Liva also gets dual front SRS airbags, ABS and EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, electrically foldable rear-view mirrors, etc. Engine choices remain unchanged with the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel.

Unlike a lot of its rivals, the Etios Liva was one of the few cars to get a good safety rating: a solid four stars in Global NCAP. It shares the same rating with the Etios saloon, which Toyota claim has seen a steady growth (seven per cent in last quarter) since September 2016 when TKM (Toyota Kirloskar Motor) launched the rejuvenated Platinum Etios.

For those who don’t quite fancy the dual-tone look, the Etios Liva is also available in a regular/single-colour paintjob, in the GX/GXD version.
