BMW is all set to unveil the new-generation M4 CS in India on 4 October, marking an exciting addition to the brand’s high-performance sports car lineup. This second-generation M4 CS will make its presence known with an official launch event, where pricing and further details are expected to be disclosed. Given its niche appeal, the M4 CS is anticipated to enter the Indian market as a limited-edition offering, likely through the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route, ensuring exclusivity.

The latest iteration of the M4 CS embodies BMW’s evolving design philosophy, characterised by more pronounced, sharper lines, a larger kidney grille, and eye-catching angular headlights with distinctive yellow inserts. These features lend the car a strikingly aggressive look, especially when viewed head-on, reinforcing its motorsport-inspired DNA. The rear is equally bold, with muscular contours and M-specific design elements that highlight its performance credentials.

The BMW M4 CS slots between the CSL and the standard coupe

Inside, the M4 CS blends BMW’s hallmark minimalist design approach with race-inspired elements. The dashboard remains clean and functional, but this is unmistakably an M model. Carbon fibre racing seats, adorned with special CS badging stitched into the headrests, emphasize the car’s sporty intentions. The squared-off steering wheel and subtle M branding throughout the cabin add to the overall performance-oriented feel, while still offering the luxury and refinement expected from a BMW.

The screens run on BMW OS 8.5

At the heart of the M4 CS lies BMW’s renowned 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline-six petrol engine, which delivers a staggering 550bhp. This powertrain propels the car from 0 to 100 kph in a blistering 3.4 seconds, showcasing the model’s race-bred performance capabilities. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, with power delivered through BMW’s M-specific xDrive all-wheel-drive system, ensuring optimal grip and control during high-speed driving or tight cornering.

Although official pricing will be revealed at the launch, industry speculation points to a starting price north of INR 1.5 crore, positioning the M4 CS as a premium offering in the sports coupe segment. In the Indian market, the M4 CS will face stiff competition from other high-performance machines like the Audi RS5, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, and the soon-to-arrive Maserati Gran Turismo.

As BMW strengthens its footprint in the luxury performance segment, the arrival of the M4 CS in India underscores the brand’s commitment to offering thrilling driving experiences, combined with cutting-edge technology and striking design. All eyes will be on 4th October as BMW officially pulls back the curtain on its latest high-performance marvel.
