Nissan India has updated the Micra hatchback for 2017 with a couple of new features. The hatchback now costs Rs 5.99 lakh onwards for the petrol engined model, and Rs 6.62 lakh onwards for the diesel.
Although nowhere close to the updated, sharper-looking iteration that’s on sale in markets abroad, the Indian version continues to offer good value for money. It also happens to be one of the least expensive ways to enjoy a seamless CVT gearbox. The CVT-only petrol Micra uses a 1.2-litre unit, and is claimed to return 19.34 kpl. The 1.5-litre diesel, on the other hand, can only be specified with a manual gearbox, has good pep for intra-city driving, and boasts an ARAI-claimed average of 23.08 kpl.
New features on the Micra include automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, ‘lead-me-to-car’ functionality, orange accents on the black interior, etc. A new 2-DIN audio system with bluetooth and telephony features has been added as well. The lower-specced Micra Active is also updated with a new bumper and new design steering wheel with Bluetooth/audio controls on it. The Active is the only version with a petrol+manual combination, with prices starting from just Rs 4.61 lakh.
To make owning a Micra hassle-free, Nissan also offers a 3-year/50,000 km extended warranty on the car. There are seven colour options to choose from, and the car is available at all authorised Nissan dealerships from today onwards.
