TATA SIERRA

MARUTI SUZUKI E VITARA

The firm’s first EV is a significant step for the brand, offering an impressive 500 km+ range on a single charge, thanks to its 61 kW battery pack. The eVitara also has a futuristic design that stands apart from typical Maruti offerings. The inside, feels far more premium, with upgraded materials and tech. Maruti’s commitment to the EV space goes beyond just producing electric cars; it is also focussed on infrastructure development, and plans to install DC fast chargers across India. This is a strategic move to encourage more people to transition to electric vehicles.

MG CYBERSTER

MG created a buzz with the unveiling of the all-electric Cyberster. With its sporty design and cutting-edge features, it’s a left-of-field offering from the firm. The Cyberster’s standout feature are its scissor doors, offering a dramatic flair — and lets not forget its roadster form. As a performance car, its numbers don’t disappoint, accelerating from 0 to 100 kph in 3.2 seconds. This is combined with a 77 kWh battery pack, which offers a range of over 500 kilometres per charge. With a focus on performance, technology, and design, the Cyberster is positioned as a performance-driven electric vehicle that caters to enthusiasts who want both speed and sustainability. It’s certainly one to watch as the EV market continues to expand in India.

PORSCHE MACAN ELECTRIC

While the crowd’s attention was initially focused on the stunning yellow GT3 RS, the Macan Electric stood out for its electrifying specs. With a top speed of 260 kph and acceleration from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.3 seconds, this SUV delivers the kind of performance you’d expect from Porsche. Powered by an electric motor producing 639 bhp, the Macan Electric doesn’t just offer blistering speed — it also comes with a great range of 641 km on a single charge. This combination of performance and practicality is perfect for customers looking for a high-performance electric SUV. With prices ranging from Rs.1.21 crore to Rs.1.68 crore, the Macan Electric offers Porsche enthusiasts an electric alternative.

HYUNDAI CRETA ELECTRIC

One of the highlights of the Expo was the launch of the Hyundai Creta Electric, a model that has already garnered significant attention due to its competitive pricing and great specs. The Creta Electric starts at an introductory price of `17.99 lakh and offers impressive range, with the higher-spec variant boasting a 51.4 kWh battery pack that delivers up to 473 km on a single charge. Hyundai also offers a lower-range version with a 42 kWh battery pack, providing a range of 390 km. The Creta has been the bestselling SUV in India for quite some time, and now, with the EV variant, it looks poised to capture an even larger share of the market. The electric version maintains the Creta’s stylish design and spacious interior while offering a more sustainable and cost-efficient driving option.

VINFAST VF7

Vietnamese automaker Vinfast made its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo with the VF7, a smart and attractive all-electric SUV. This new entrant to the Indian market comes loaded with premium features, and offers an impressive 450 km of range. The VF7 is available with a 75.3 kW battery pack, producing 198 bhp in its base variant, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant cranks out a combined 335 bhp; this version can reach a top speed of 175 kph. The VF7 also boasts a 12.9-inch and a 15-inch infotainment system, offering a high-tech experience for both the driver and passengers. The car is equipped with both Level 2 and Level 3 DC fast charging capabilities, making it convenient for long-distance travel. The Vinfast VF7 is a noteworthy addition to India’s growing electric vehicle market, and is one to watch as more global players enter the Indian EV space.

KIA EV6

Kia showcased an updated EV6 at the Expo, presenting a more refined version of the electric car, with improved features. Now equipped with a larger 84 kW battery pack, the EV6 offers an extended range of up to 650 km. While the shape remains familiar, Kia has sharpened the design, particularly the front end, giving it a more aggressive and modern look. The GT Line variant on display stood out for its sleek appearance and performance. The EV6 has already made waves in the EV market with its stylish design and cutting-edge technology, and this refreshed version takes it to the next level.

SKODA ELROQ

Skoda’s Elroq concept made a bold statement at the Expo, presenting a future vision for the brand’s electric flagship SUV. With an expected range of over 560 km, the Elroq is positioned as Skoda’s premier electric model. This all-electric concept was designed to provide a commanding presence on the road, combining powerful performance with sophisticated technology. Skoda’s ambition with the Elroq is to cater to buyers seeking an all-electric SUV that offers both luxury and performance at a competitive price point. The concept vehicle has already garnered significant attention for its futuristic design and is expected to become a major part of Skoda’s upcoming electric lineup.

BYD SEALION 7

This SUV is equipped with BYD’s innovative Blade Battery technology and comes in two variants: rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). The RWD version comes with an 82.5 kW battery pack, providing a power output of 304 bhp and a claimed range of 482 km. The AWD variant, with a 91.3 kW battery, produces 523 bhp and 70.36 kgm of torque, offering an increased range of 502 km per charge. The Sealion 7 features a massive 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen and a host of advanced safety features, including ADAS. Given BYD’s success in the Indian market, the Sealion 7 seems set to become a major contender in the premium SUV segment.

ELECTRIC G-WAGEN

Among the luxury offerings at the Expo, Mercedes-Benz’s Electric G-Wagon stole the show. Now available in an all-electric version known as the G 580, it comes with an impressive 116 kW battery pack that provides a claimed 473 km of range. What makes it even more fascinating is its power output — it produces 578 bhp and an astounding 118.69 kgm of torque. This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in under fi ve seconds. One of the most ground-breaking features of this electric G-Wagon is its ability to rotate 720 degrees on the spot — thanks to independent motors on each wheel — making it an off-road beast.
