Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility brand VIDA has added another international design accolade to its growing portfolio, winning the prestigious Red Dot Design Concept Award 2026 for its NOVUS series and DIRT.E MX7 electric motorcycle. The latest recognition follows VIDA’s success at the Red Dot awards last year, when the DIRT.E MX5 was honoured for its design. The back-to-back recognition highlights VIDA’s focus on developing electric two-wheelers that combine distinctive styling with technology and functional design.

The Red Dot Design Concept Award is among the world’s well-known design competitions, recognising innovative concepts across a wide range of categories. For VIDA, the 2026 awards underline the brand’s efforts to explore new directions in electric mobility, particularly beyond the conventional urban electric scooter format. The NOVUS series and DIRT.E MX7 represent two different interpretations of what future electric two-wheelers could look like, with each concept designed around a distinct riding experience.

The NOVUS series is positioned as a forward-looking electric mobility concept, with its design focused on combining contemporary aesthetics with functionality. Its styling reflects VIDA’s approach to creating products that are visually distinctive while remaining rooted in the practical requirements of everyday mobility. The recognition also reinforces the importance of design as electric two-wheelers become increasingly mainstream and manufacturers look to differentiate their products in a rapidly expanding segment.

The DIRT.E MX7, meanwhile, takes VIDA’s electric ambitions into the off-road space. Designed as an electric motocross concept, the motorcycle showcases how electric powertrains can be adapted for more performance-oriented and recreational applications. Its design follows the functional requirements of off-road riding, with an emphasis on a lightweight visual character, purposeful proportions and an aggressive stance. The MX7 builds on the design language established by the DIRT.E MX5, which received Red Dot recognition in 2025.

The latest awards are significant for Hero MotoCorp as it continues to expand its presence in electric mobility through VIDA. While the company’s electric range has primarily focused on urban scooters, concepts such as the NOVUS series and DIRT.E MX7 demonstrate the potential for the brand to explore a broader portfolio of electric products in the future.

With two Red Dot Design Concept Awards in consecutive years, VIDA is increasingly establishing design as one of the key pillars of its electric mobility strategy. The recognition for the NOVUS series and DIRT.E MX7 also signals Hero MotoCorp’s intention to develop electric two-wheelers that are not only technologically relevant but also capable of creating a strong visual identity in an increasingly competitive global EV landscape.
