After months of anticipation, the price for the Triumph Scrambler 400 X is finally out. At Rs 2,62,996 (ex-showroom), this bike is Rs 30,000 more expensive than its roadster sibling, the Speed 400.

Triumph Speed 400 X

The Triumph Scrambler 400 X shares a lot with the Speed 400, including the 398.15cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder mill producing 39.5 bhp and 3.82 kgm. Bits like the 13-litre fuel tank, perimeter frame and the illumination equipment are also the same.

What differentiates both the bikes is the suspension and the wheels. To stay true to the scrambler genes, the 400 X comes with a 43 mm USD fork and a monoshock, both offering 150 mm of travel. Furthermore, the Scrambler runs on a 19/17-inch wheel setup with dual-purpose tyres. All this should result in an increased ground clearance compared to the Speed, but Triumph hasn’t revealed the figure, yet.

Just like the Speed 400, this bike too gets ABS and traction control. However, for the Scrambler, not only can you turn off the traction control, but also the ABS at the rear wheel to have better control over the bike when off-roading.

Considering the benchmark set by the Speed 400, the Scrambler 400 X shouldn’t be a disappointment. And with a price tag like that, it surely makes the deal all the more tempting. We’ll be riding the bike soon, so stay tuned!
