Triumph has launched the Bonneville T120 in India at a price beginning at Rs 8.7 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The Bonneville T120 has a 79 bhp 1200 cc parallel-twin engine with a new firing order of 270 degrees, which should make the new model interesting, to say the least.
The new engine sports eight valves, fuel injection and a ‘ride by wire’ throttle, which also makes it possible to have two different engine maps, ‘road’ and ‘rain’. There’s also traction control, ABS, a USB charging socket, and, strangely, heated grips. On the options list are more interesting things like cruise control. You can have your T120 in one of four colour schemes: red/silver with pinstripes, black/white with pinstripes, pure black (like in the image here) and red. Go for the pinstripes, we say – everything automatically is better with pinstripes.
Also of interest are the customisation options – there’s around 160 things you can add to your bike, and to make things slightly easier, you can start off with the ‘Prestige’ kit which installs a chrome tank badge, ribbed and stitched black seat, LED indicators, ‘barrel style’ handlebar grips, chrome clutch cover, alternator cover, and throttle body embellishers, and slip-on exhaust end cans from Vance & Hines.
