When the world was supposedly coming to an end in 2012, Bajaj Auto came out and launched the Pulsar NS200, because why not? The NS was the first major upgrade to the Pulsar lineup back then, and it was also the most technologically advanced. It also benefited from the learnings that came from its partnership with KTM.
So what’s changing in the 2024 edition of the NS200? While the overall design will remain the same, the headlight now gets the full LED treatment with DRLs as well. The signature Pulsar LED tail lamps have also been retained, but the LED indicators are new. Looks might be a subjective thing, and while somehow the NS200’s design seems to click even after a decade, we can understand certain audiences who might want to see a change.
A digital cluster is replacing the current semi-digital setup. This cluster appears similar to the one on the newly-updated N150 and N160. The 2024 Pulsar NS200 will also be equipped with turn-by-turn navigation, bluetooth connectivity, a gear position indicator, and a USB charging port among other things. We also noticed a toggle button on the left switchgear, which is likely to adjust certain settings for the cluster.
The NS200 will also retain its 199.5 cc triple-spark, four-valve powertrain, with a slim chance of its output figures being given a boost. The NS series got an update last year with USD forks, dual-channel ABS, Grimeca brake callipers, and other minor cosmetic tweaks. It continues to be underpinned by the perimeter frame, and it also retains the monoshock at the rear.
