Flagged off on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2022, from India Gate in New Delhi, the BSF Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition Empowerment Ride – 2022, successfully concluded its remarkable journey from New Delhi to Kanyakumari to Chennai on the 29th of March.
Organized in close collaboration with the Border Security Force and Royal Enfield, the Expedition led by Inspector Himanshu Sirohi concluded a gruelling 5280-km ride that traversed diverse terrains across Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu on the all-new Royal Enfield Classic 350s.
The Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition 2022 saw 36 women riders interact with diverse riding communities and audiences along the way, with the goal of raising awareness about women’s capabilities while emphasising freedom from bias, preconceptions and discrimination.
To celebrate this incredible feat, Royal Enfield organized a special felicitation ceremony for the team at its Vallam Vadagal facility near Chennai. For being a part of this very incredible motorcycle excursion, each of these 36 riding team members was presented with a Certificate and a Trophy of Honour.
The female riders at the Royal Enfield factory were overjoyed to be there. These women were eager to observe and learn how these Royal Enfield Classics are built and constructed after riding these motorcycles for their famed, daredevil, motorcycle-formation performances on the Rajpath every Republic Day parade. The Seema Bhawani team engaged and spoke with industrial teams, particularly the Royal Enfield female assembly line workers.
The BSF Seema Bhawani All-Women Daredevil Motorcycle Team was formed in 2016 and has since put on several amazing and stunning performances, including two appearances at the Republic Day Parade on Rajpath in New Delhi in 2018 and 2022. The Seema Bhawani riders were cheered on by riding communities as well as youth along the expedition, who praised their determination and endurance while on this difficult journey. The riders of the BSF Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition ‘Empowerment Ride – 2022’ experienced exhilarating moments of team spirit and camaraderie, bolstered by incredible support from fascinated audiences along the route.
