More from Motoring

As we come close to the most coveted motorcycle show — EICMA, KTM has announced its grand build up to it. With seven new motorcycles and two new technologies, the Austrian brand has a lot lined up for the Milan show.

Starting from October 8 onwards, the first big announcement is KTM’s AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) tech. We have seen Yamaha and BMW Motorrad do it recently, and KTM will now join the bandwagon. The first motorcycle is likely to be from the Adventure lineup, since the brand already put out a teaser a few months ago.

Two days after that, KTM intends to unveil its new 8.88-inch TFT dash. The teaser images show the console in both — landscape and portrait configurations. We reckon that the latter should go well with ADVs, while the landscape suits sports tourers and other formats.

Which brings us to the next set of announcements: October 22nd for the 1390 Super Adventure S Evo, followed by the 1390 Super Adventure S two days later and 1390 Super Duke GT on November 5. So, in all likelihood, the new TFT dash could make its debut in these bikes.

Apart from these, KTM will also showcase the Freeride E, SMX-E 3 and SMX-E 5. And at the Milan show, the third episode of the RC 990 R’s development will be premiered. However, there’s no news on the debut of the 390 Adventure series that has been doing its testing runs in India.

Will the new 390 Adventure models be a surprise for the audience, or will KTM choose not to give it a grand debut? Stay tuned to know.
