Unlike some of us, we bet the Hero Splendor will be happy about turning 30. Lord Splendor, as it is fondly referred to on social media, is celebrating its 30th anniversary, as a result of which Hero MotoCorp has rolled out yet another special edition. Called the XTEC 2.0, this variant of the Hero Splendor receives mostly cosmetic tweaks, while retaining its bullet-proof mechanicals.

The set of tweaks begins with a new dual-tone black and grey paint scheme, with red inserts, and you’ll also find an H-shaped DRL pattern on the headlight. In terms of equipment, the Hero Splendor XTEC 2.0 continues to offer a digital cluster with bluetooth connectivity for calls, SMS alerts and battery alerts. It also features an eco indicator, service reminder alerts, side-stand alert, Hero’s i3s start-stop system, a USB charger, and hazard lights.

We’re happy to report the Splendor continues with the trusted 97.2 cc mill, producing 7.91 bhp and 0.82 kgm of torque, paired to a 4-speed gearbox, while also claiming a 73 kmpl fuel efficiency figure. Now that’s why some things just shouldn’t be messed with, right?
