More from Motoring

The Hero Mavrick has caused quite a lot of buzz on social media. It is, after all, a huge deal for Hero Motocorp, as it enters the premium motorcycle segment for the first time. With only 5 days to go from the Maverick’s expected launch, here is what you need to know about Hero MotoCorp’s first-ever 400cc bike for India.

What can we expect?

The Hero Mavrick 440 is poised to inherit the mechanical prowess of its Harley-Davidson counterpart, the X440, featuring a 440cc engine with a 6-speed transmission. Although Hero Motocorp has not made a formal announcement, it is anticipated that they will tweak the engine and gears to align with the preferences of potential buyers.

Notable differences from the X440 include standard telescopic front forks and 17-inch alloy wheels for the Hero Mavrick, deviating from the X440’s USD forks and 19-inch wheels.

The instrument cluster appears premium

Despite being positioned as a streetfighter, in contrast to the X440’s roadster status, the Mavrick is expected to undergo several significant modifications. These potential changes encompass a semi-digital console equipped with smartphone connectivity, an enlarged fuel tank, and a slightly bolder front footpeg location.

As for pricing, the Hero Mavrick 440 is estimated to exceed Rs 2 lakh in the Indian market. Comparatively, the starting price of the Harley-Davidson X440 is Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its launch, the Maverick will directly compete with rivals such as the Triumph Speed 400.

The Hero Mavrick 440 is expected to bring a refined and modified version of the Harley-Davidson X440, offering distinctive features and competing in the premium motorcycle segment with a speculated price exceeding Rs 2 lakh. The Mavrick will be uncovered on January 23, 2024, so stay tuned!
