More from Motoring

TVS Motor Company has launched a new mobile app in India called ‘A.R.I.V.E’. The TVS Augmented Reality Interactive Vehicle Experience (A.R.I.V.E) app, as the name suggests, uses AR technology to bring the experience of the showroom to the customer’s screen at home. For now, only the Apache RR 310 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V are available on this brand new app. TVS will be incorporating their entire range at a later time.

Each motorcycle gets an individual module on the app. Each module is then divided into three modes – ‘Place to explore’ (AR-based), ‘Scan a real bike’ (AR-based) and the ‘3D mode’ (Non-AR compatible devices). There’s also a ‘Sell Through Process’ option which lets customers schedule a test ride, locate the nearest dealer, or book their vehicle online. The former three allow interested parties to explore their preferred TVS in detail through specifications, videos, animations and more.

For example, the ‘Place to explore’ requires a flat horizontal surface to get a 360-degree view of the motorcycle. The ‘Scan a real bike’ will allow customers to literally scan a TVS motorcycle to know all about it. Last but certainly not least, the 3D mode is meant to give you the same experience as the first two, but for non-AR compatible devices Note that this third mode is also available for AR-enabled devices as well. The TVS A.R.I.V.E app is now available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Would you consider this over an actual showroom experience?
