Benelli has just launched the 502C in India, and it’s a cruiser that goes up against the Kawasaki Vulcan S. As we’ve mentioned before, the 502C bears a very strong resemblance to the Ducati XDiavel, which is no bad thing (although we’re sure Ducati may have an eyebrow raised).

This is a sports cruiser, with a wide handlebar and footpegs/levers set forward. The trellis frame is an exposed one (ahem), and the large 21.5-litre fuel tank gives the 502C a chunky stance, complemented by the sawn off rear section. The bike gets full LED headlights and you can order it in two shades — red and black.

The powerplant is a 500cc parallel-twin, also seen on the Leoncino and TRK. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox and puts out 46.8 bhp and 4.7 kgm, and you get dual channel ABS and an all-digital instrument panel. Up front, there are USD forks with 135mm of travel, and at the back you get a monoshock with 50mm of travel. Braking duties are done by twin 280mm discs up front and a 240mm disc at the back.

The 502C will cost you Rs 4.98 lakh (ex-showroom), which is not a bad price considering that the Kawasaki Vulcan S is over a lakh of rupees more. Stay tuned for a proper riding impression.
