Bajaj Auto has introduced the most affordable Chetak yet, named the Chetak 2901 at Rs 95,998 (ex-showroom Bangalore). The scooter is positioned below the Urbane and Premium variants, now becoming the entry variant to the Chetak line.

The scooter comes equipped with a 2.9 kWh battery pack shared with the Urbane variant which means that the scooter will have a top speed of 63 kph, and shall be available with an eco mode as standard. However, customers who opt for the TecPac shall also have a sport mode available. The scooter takes a claimed time of six hours for a full charge, with 123 km of range on board. The scooter also features an off-board charger and comes with an IP67 rating for water resistance.

The scooter is loaded with features such as a colour digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. Customers with the TecPac upgrade, coming in at Rs. 3,000, will also have hill hold, reverse mode, sport and economy modes, call and music control and follow me home lights. The Chetak 2901 retains the same design as other Chetak variants, featuring a modern-retro look. It comes in Red, White, Black, Lime Yellow, and Azure Blue.

Eric Vas, President of Urbanite at Bajaj Auto Ltd., stated that the Chetak 2901 is designed to attract customers transitioning from petrol to electric scooters. Deliveries will start from June 15. The Chetak 2901 will be available at over 500 showrooms across India.
