More from Motoring

Ather Energy has announced its dates for the Ather Community Day 2024. And at the event, i.e April 6, 2024, the Bengaluru-based company will also launch its new e-scooter called the Rizta.

A heavily camouflaged unit of the Rizta has been ‘unveiled’ on a stand-up comedian’s social media page. Though the finer details can’t be figured out, the upcoming e-scooter looks substantial. In fact, in a video shared by Tarun Mehta, the CEO of Ather Energy, the seat looks a lot bigger when compared to another e-scooter’s (appears to be the seat of an Ola S1), and he even claims it to be the biggest in its segment.

The upcoming Ather e-scooter gets a completely different design approach compared to the 450X to suit its intended purpose. It looks wide, and has chunky body panels. The LED headlight is mounted on the front apron and the tail light is a sleek unit.

Ather is unlikely to skimp out on features, and the Rizta could get the same TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation and ride modes. However, the ride modes on this could be programmed differently compared to those on the 450 series.

There’s no word on the powertrain and the battery yet, but it is likely to be shared with the Ather 450S. We expect the Rizta to be priced at around Rs 1.30 lakh, making it a direct rival to the likes of the Ola S1 and the TVS iQube S.
