After making its grand debut at the Indian Oil Grand Prix of India 2023, Aprilia India has finally launched the RS 457 in India at Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra). This positions the new Italian supersport bang in between its rivals — the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400.

The Aprilia RS 457 uses an all-new liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor that pumps out 47 bhp. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Though Aprilia is yet to announce the complete technical specifications, the bike tips the scale at 175 kg (wet).

In terms of styling, the RS 457 looks like a scaled down RSV4 and exactly like the RS 660. So,  there’s the sharp-looking fascia, sporty bodywork and the underbelly exhaust. Aprilia has equipped the bike with a TFT console, three riding modes, traction control and of course, dual-channel ABS. Lastly, the RS 457 gets preload-adjustable suspension at both ends.

At Rs 4.10 lakh, the Aprilia RS 457 comes across as a pretty sweet deal considering that the single-cylinder KTM RC 390 retails at Rs 3.18 lakh. The closest parallel-twin competitor on sale is the Kawasaki Ninja 400 which carries a sticker of Rs 5.14 lakh. That said, Yamaha intends to launch the YZF-R3 this month, so the mid-displacement supersport fans are in for a treat!
