If you thought Triumph Motorcycles was going to rest on its laurels after launching the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, think again. The British motorcycle has showcased not only its Bonneville Stealth Edition lineup that was launched earlier this year; it has also given a series of updates to the Tiger 900 lineup, showcasing all this at the ongoing India Bike Week, which is also celebrating its tenth anniversary.
Starting with the aesthetics, the 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 lineup gets a slightly reworked fascia with a cleaner design than before, along with three new paint schemes — the Tiger 900 GT can be had in either Snowdonia White, Graphite, and Carnival Red, the latter two with a dual-tone treatment of Sapphire Black. Meanwhile the Tiger 900 Rally Pro can be with a dual-tone black paint scheme, Ash Grey with Intense Orange, Khaki Green with Phantom Black, both with matt treatment. The Rally Pro, in particular, gets a slight rework in ergonomics, as the handlebar has been moved back by 15 mm.
The 2024 Tiger 900 lineup also benefits from a reworked T-plane crank engine with a slight bump in output figures, now producing 106.5 bhp and 9.1 kgm of torque; that’s 12.8 bhp and 0.3 kgm more than the outgoing model. The Tiger 900 GT is suspended on Marzocchi 45 mm compression and rebound-adjustable USD forks with 180 mm travel, along with a preload and rebound-adjustable monoshock with 170 mm travel. Meanwhile the Tiger 900 Rally Pro gets its suspension from Showa; 45mm USD adjustable forks with manual preload, rebound and compression damping, and a monoshock with fully adjustable manual preload and rebound damping. Both get 240 mm and 230 mm of travel respectively.
The 7-inch TFT screen is new and comes with an improved UI, along with bluetooth connectivity, and there’s also a USB C-type charger available. Seat height is adjustable by 20 mm, and the Pro versions are further equipped with a heated seat. Other equipment includes six riding modes, cornering ABS, traction control, heated grips, quickshifter, a slip-and-assist clutch, a tyre pressure monitoring system and an adjustable windscreen. An Akrapovic exhaust is part of the accessories list.
Triumph says bookings for the 2024 Tiger 900 lineup are now open, while the motorcycles will be arriving in March 2024. We expect the updated Tiger 900 lineup to carry a slight premium from its current starting price tag of Rs 13.70 lakh (ex-showroom)
