Stellantis, the conglomerate that owns Jeep and Citroën, plans to launch seven new cars in India by the end of 2030 for both brands under its belt. The first product is set to be launched in the second half of 2027, but it hasn’t confirmed which brand it will be for.
The new launches will be through a fresh investment of Rs 4,000 crore, adding to the Rs 11,000 crore that Stellantis has already invested in the country. The aim of this investment is to improve product development, localisation, and customer experience in India. The investment will also help add left-hand-drive exports to Stellantis’ portfolio. While Citroën has already achieved 90 per cent localisation, Jeep will also target 90 per cent localisation with this investment. This, in turn, should help Jeep price its models quite competitively.
In addition to the seven brand-new cars, Stellantis will also facelift five of the seven models it currently sells in India by the end of 2030 (taking the tally up to 12). The facelifts will include four Citroën models and one Jeep.
The seven new models will include an A-segment car, a C-segment SUV, and a D-segment MPV for Citroën, while Jeep will get a B-segment, C-segment, and D-segment SUV, as well as a D-segment pickup. The pickup is likely to be the Wrangler-based Gladiator, while the B-segment SUV could be based on Tata.Cars’ ARGOS platform that underpins the Sierra.
While there’s no confirmation on which product will get which powertrain, Stellantis did confirm that the new products will be a mix of internal combustion engine, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric powertrains.
