Toyota’s smallest car in India, the Glanza, has been launched in India at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Glanza is the only hatchback that Toyota sells in India currently, and is now the third Toyota to get an ADAS suite, and the second car in the segment after its badge-engineered cousin, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
The Glanza has always been the Baleno but with a different body kit, and the same continues with this update as well. It gets a different grille, bumper, headlamps, taillamps and alloy wheels. The colour options are largely the same.
Inside too, it’s hard to differentiate the Baleno and the Glanza, except for the badge on the steering wheel. It also comes with the same 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features remain identical to the Baleno. With the facelift, the Glanza gets a new top-spec V(O) trim, which gives buyers the option of ADAS.
Powering the Glanza is a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine with 83 bhp and 113 Nm, with the option of a 5-speed manual or an AMT. Again, the same powertrain as the Baleno.
The Glanza rivals the aforementioned Baleno, Tata Altroz, Citroen C3X and Hyundai i20.
