Kia India has reported its strongest-ever August wholesale performance, dispatching 29,042 vehicles in August 2026, marking a 48 per cent increase over the same month last year. The milestone highlights the Korean automaker’s growing presence in the Indian market, with strong demand across its SUV portfolio driving volumes.
The Seltos and Sonet continued to be the key volume contributors for Kia, benefiting from their established positions in India’s competitive mid-size and compact SUV segments. Both models have built a strong customer base by combining distinctive styling, feature-rich cabins and multiple powertrain options.
Adding further momentum to Kia’s portfolio is the Syros EV, which has begun gaining early traction in the market. The electric SUV expands Kia’s presence in India’s rapidly developing EV space and gives the brand another product to attract environmentally conscious urban buyers.
Kia’s August performance comes as the Indian automotive market continues to see strong demand for SUVs, particularly in the compact and mid-size segments. The company’s expanding range, alongside increasing consumer interest in electric mobility, has helped it maintain its growth trajectory.
The record wholesale figure also reflects Kia’s efforts to strengthen its product portfolio and cater to a wider range of Indian buyers. With the Seltos and Sonet continuing to anchor sales and newer models such as the Syros EV adding fresh appeal, Kia is positioning itself for further growth in the coming months.
The 29,042-unit August wholesale represents an important milestone for Kia India, especially as the company continues to expand its footprint and compete against established players in one of the world’s fastest-growing automotive markets.
