BMW India has introduced a new range-topping petrol variant of the X3, the BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro, priced at Rs 74.50 lakh, ex-showroom. It sits Rs 2 lakh above the xDrive 20 and is priced on par with the xDrive 20d, giving buyers a clear choice between petrol performance and diesel efficiency at the same price point.

Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 258 bhp and 40.8 kgm of torque. The motor is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, and a 48-volt mild-hybrid setup. BMW claims a 0 to 100 kmph time of 6.3 seconds, making this the quickest X3 currently on sale in India.

On the outside, the 30 xDrive M Sport Pro gets a few distinct touches. There’s a new grille with black inserts and illumination, M Sport brakes with red callipers, and larger 20-inch alloy wheels replacing the 19-inch units seen on lower trims. The headlamps and tail lamps receive a smoked finish, giving it a sportier, more purposeful look.

Inside, updates are subtle. The cabin features M seat belts and revised soft-touch materials, while the equipment list remains extensive. Highlights include a panoramic glass roof, a 360-degree camera, three-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, a 15-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and powered, ventilated front sport seats with memory.

For those wanting an X3 with sharper performance without stepping into full-fat M territory, this is now the one to consider.
