What is it?

The Backbone Pro is a mobile controller that turns your phone into a handheld gaming device.

Is it any good?

Mobile games have come a long way in the last decade, but the gaming experience? Hasn’t changed much, has it? Playing complex games on a touchscreen doesn’t have the feel and the controls take up a lot of real estate on the screen — and that’s something that Backbone intends to solve.

The controller can fit any phone, and connect to it via USB or Bluetooth. Heck, you can plug your phone with the USB and use wireless connectivity for your laptop and seamlessly switch between two games. And you can also charge your phone and the controller while gaming, thanks to a type-c port for passthrough charging, but with a claimed 40 hours of battery life, you may not have to do that often.

How much?

At Rs. 16,900, it is an expensive purchase, but with the first batch already sold out in India, clearly wallets were no match for willpower.
