In a step towards shaping the future of electric motorcycles, Flying Flea, the new electric vehicle (EV) brand from Royal Enfield, has partnered with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. This collaboration aims to integrate Qualcomm’s Snapdragon QWM2290 system-on-chip (SoC) and Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud Platform into the heart of Flying Flea’s upcoming motorcycles. Following the global launch in Milan in November 2024, the partnership marks a significant milestone in the electric mobility landscape.
Flying Flea’s integration of Qualcomm’s cutting-edge technologies places it among the first in the 2-wheeler segment to leverage connected services via the Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud platform. This collaboration promises to elevate the riding experience, blending Royal Enfield’s heritage with Qualcomm’s innovative tech.
Mario Alvisi, Chief Growth Officer for Electric Vehicles at Royal Enfield, emphasised that the Flying Flea brand represents more than just a new motorcycle line — it’s a groundbreaking vision, combining modern infrastructure, authentic design, and advanced technology. The collaboration with Qualcomm brings that vision to life by enabling Flying Flea motorcycles to incorporate state-of-the-art connectivity, intelligence, and safety features.
The Snapdragon QWM2290 SoC, specifically designed for two-wheelers, powers the motorcycle’s core vehicle control unit, which runs an in-house developed operating system. This allows for advanced features like real-time diagnostics, intuitive ride modes, and personalised settings — all accessible through a sleek TFT display. The motorcycle’s connectivity is enhanced with 4G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, ensuring seamless communication between rider and vehicle.
Flying Flea’s focus on user-centric technology offers a unique riding experience with customisable ride modes, a voice assist button, and mobile phone integration as a smart key. This partnership with Qualcomm represents a pivotal moment in electric mobility for Royal Enfield.
