BMW Motorrad has started pre-launch bookings for the 2024 F900 GS and F900 GS Adventure in India. The motorcycles will be imported via the CBU route, and are set to replace the outgoing F850 GS range.
The overall design of the F900 GS stays similar to the outgoing model, but the bike is lighter and gets a few significant improvements, including a new LED headlamp unit. The F900 GS and the F900 GSA get the same 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels with the same suspension travel, however, the GS weighs 219 kg, much less than the 246-kg GSA, so that should bring a significant difference in the ride quality.
The F900 GS is powered by an 895cc twin-cylinder engine that delivers 105 bhp and 9.48 kgm of torque. The bike comes with an upside-down fork at the front and an aluminium dual swing arm with an adjustable mono-shock at the rear, while dual 305 mm discs handle braking at the front, and a 265 mm disc manages the rear. The F900 GS gets features such as a 6.5-inch digital instrument console, keyless ignition, customisable riding modes, traction control, ABS and a bidirectional quick-shifter. The motorcycle also gets a single-piece seat, wire-spoked wheels and a rugged skid plate.
When launched, the new BMW F900 GS range will go up against the likes of the Triumph Tiger 900, the V-strom 800DE and the Honda XL750 Transalp. Stay tuned for more updates on the motorcycle.
