The compact saloon segment might be getting all the publicity (the Xcent has just been launched, the Ford Figo Aspire has got a new variant, and the Dzire is coming soon) but Nissan India has decided to make an offer that most buyers will find hard to turn down. The larger and more comfortable Nissan Sunny is now available at a starting price of Rs 6.99 lakh onwards.
There are three power-/drive-train choices available: Petrol MT, Diesel MT, and Petrol CVT. The latter, at Rs 8.99 lakh, also happens to be the least expensive CVT-equipped midsize saloon on sale in the country. The more popular diesel engined version now starts at Rs 7.49 lakh for the base XE trim, and goes all the way up to Rs 8.99 lakh for the top-spec XV variant.
Not just that, the said price revision also brings the Sunny much closer to the Toyota Etios, whose prices start at Rs 6.94 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi.
