Nissan India has updated its Sunny saloon (it would be a disservice to call it mid-size, after all) to keep it fresh for 2017. Prices for the car, despite the additions, remain unchanged, at Rs 7.91 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).
The changes aren’t too many, but the prominent ones are: the inclusion of a new Sandstone Brown colour and chrome door handles. The car will be available with an all-black interior (optional), complete with black seats and black door inserts, etc.
Engine choices include a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The latter gets a 5-speed manual transmission while the petrol unit comes with a CVT automatic gearbox. Other features include ABS with EBD, airbags, key-less entry with push-button start, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable rear view mirrors, reverse parking camera, etc.
What sets the Sunny apart from its rivals (including the upcoming Honda City facelift) is the rear seat and boot space. And that’s very much there in the ever-so-slightly updated 2017 version as well.
