If you’re a Lamborghini fan, it’s highly unlikely that you haven’t heard of Valentino Balboni. Been in the company for more than 40 years, Balboni, now retired, is famously known for being the company’s chief test driver. Taking his love for the Italian brand forward, he’s announced the launch of his brand ‘VB’. The first of the products to come from VB is a custom exhaust system, for — no prizes for guessing — Lamborghini.
Made for the Aventador SV, the titanium exhaust system will be launched on August 20. Limited to a production of just 30 units, it is made of titanium, and is said to take more than 350 hours to manufacture. The bolt-on exhaust system weighs only 6.3 kilos, and will surely be a rare aftermarket product for the SV.
Further details like price and performance gains are yet to be announced, but considering that he knows Lamborghinis like the back of his hand, expectations must have hit the roof already.
While every bit counts, the Aventador SV is not short on performance. The range-topping supercar is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 that makes 750 PS and 690 Nm. With that it can do 0-100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, while the top-speed is claimed to be greater than 350 km/h.
