India Yamaha Motor has announced the launch of the refreshed, feature-packed, 2023 lineup of its 125 cc scooter range including the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid, Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Ray ZR Street Rally 125 Fi Hybrid.
The 2023 range retains the 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with fuel injection technology. This puts out a maximum output of 8 bhp at 6500 rpm and a peak torque of 1.05 kgm at 5000 rpm. The engine now features an OBD2 sensor, which helps track data vital to the engine’s health and performance in real-time, and is also E-20 fuel compliant.
These scooters also feature the Intelligent Power Assist system that is said to deliver an additional thrust utilising the Smart Motor Generator (SMG) system that doubles up as an electric motor. This system is aimed to offer additional linear power when the rider accelerates from a stop, or while climbing steep inclines. The 125 Fi Hybrid engine also features an Automatic Stop and Start system for better fuel economy. These scooters also feature a side-stand engine cut-off function and a combined braking system.
With regard to onboard tech, the 125cc hybrid scooter range is Bluetooth-enabled and works with the Yamaha Y-Connect app. The app includes a fuel consumption tracker, maintenance recommendations, last parking location, malfunction notification, revs dashboard, and rider ranking.
The styling of the range remains unchanged and Yamaha has even added new colour themes to the list. The disc variants of the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid and Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid get an all-new Dark Matte Blue colour. Further, the Ray ZR Street Rally 125 Fi Hybrid will be available in Matte Black and Light Grey Vermillion. Also, the disc and drum variants of the Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid get new graphics in their existing colours.
