TVS has launched an all-new neo-retro scrambler, the Ronin, starting at Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-India). You can choose between three variants — SS, DS and TD. The SS and DS variant comes with a single-channel ABS, while the top-end TD variant comes with a double-channel ABS along with triple-tone colour schemes priced at a premium of Rs 22,000 over the base SS variant. Oh, and you can further kit up the bike with a Style Kit (Rs 2,299), Urban Kit (Rs 4,499), or a Tour Kit (Rs 9,599), or hand-pick accessories as per your needs.

Speaking of design, the Ronin gets a circular headlight with a T-shaped LED DRL and an asymmetrical single-pod instrument cluster up front. There’s a single-piece saddle, tear-drop-shaped fuel tank, blacked-out engine cowl and a dual-tone finished side-slung exhaust. There are other features like full-LED lighting, a USB charger, and a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, among other things.

Powering the Ronin is a 225cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine that delivers 20 bhp at 7750 rpm and 2.03 kgm at 3750 rpm, paired to a 5-speed gearbox along with an assist and slipper clutch. Up front, it gets a 41-mm USD Showa fork and a monoshock at the rear. It has dual-purpose tyres mounted on alloy wheels and discs at both ends. Also, for the ABS, it gets two modes — Urban and Rain. The single-channel ABS variants tip the scale at 159 kg, while the dual-channel variant top-end variant is only a kilogram heavier.

Since the Ronin falls between Rs 1.49 lakh to Rs 1.71 lakh price range, it competes with quite a few motorcycles like the Yamaha FZ-X, Bajaj Pulsar 250s (N250 and F250) and the Bajaj Dominar 250. Do let us know what you think of the TVS Ronin. Also, stay tuned for our detailed review of it.
