A team of four Indian motorcyclists has etched their names in adventure history, being crowned Asia’s “LEGENDS WINNER – Unique Ride of the Year 2025” at the prestigious Asia Harley Days. The riders—Ankush Gulati (Dehradun), Deepak Sharma (Udaipur), Ritesh Shetiya (Pune), and Manu Joseph (Kochi)—were honoured for their groundbreaking expedition to the Mount Everest Base Camp on a Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250.
Representing the Foothills Chapter of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) from Dehradun, the team stood out among contenders from over 80 chapters across 11+ Asian nations. Their award recognises an extraordinary feat of endurance and skill, conquering one of the planet’s most challenging motorable routes.
The historic ride saw the quartet navigate treacherous high-altitude terrain, rocky trails, and glacial passes, showcasing remarkable resilience. Their successful summit to the base camp marks a significant milestone for India’s adventure motorcycling community, demonstrating global competitiveness in extreme expeditions.
Adding to the continental honour, all four riders have been formally inducted into the Asia Book of Records for this unprecedented journey. They were individually felicitated in Gorakhpur on 22 June 2025, receiving certifications and medals. This record also extends recognition to the Harley-Davidson brand and the Pan America 1250 model, underscoring the motorcycle’s exceptional capability in punishing environments.
The team credited Harley-Davidson’s steadfast support and the Pan America’s reliable performance as pivotal to their success. The adventure tourer delivered crucial power, stability, and dependability through steep ascents and oxygen-thin air, proving itself a world-class expedition vehicle.
This accomplishment is a landmark moment for Indian motorcycling. It highlights not just individual daring, but the growing prowess and ambition of the nation’s riders on the world stage. The team’s journey from India’s diverse cities to the roof of the world inspires a new generation, firmly placing the country on the global map of record-setting adventure.
