Jeep comes to India
What is it? The original off road junkie.
What’s new? After a long wait, Jeep officially announced its entry into the Indian market. On sale will be the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Edition, the Grand Cherokee and the smoking Grand Cherokee SRT. Good news is that by 2017, there will be a new model which will be assembled in India. Something affordable for the Jeep enthusiasts, we hope.
What’s under the hood? The SRT comes with a big 6.4-litre motor that will churn out 470 bhp, while the regular Grand Cherokee will get a 3.0-litre CRD motor with 240 bhp. The 3.0-litre V6 Pentastar petrol option might be offered later. The Wrangler will come with a 2.8-litre turbo diesel motor.
Launch date? Mid 2016.

Expected price? Rs 35-70 lakh; Close to Rs 1 crore for the SRT
