Kia’s first electric vehicle in India, the EV6, has finally launched at Rs 59.95 lakh for the RWD variant, while the AWD is priced at Rs 64.95 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The EV6 will be available in five different colour schemes: Snow-white pearl, Moonscape, Runway Red, Aurora Black Pearl and Yacht blue.
In India, only a single 77.4-kWh battery pack is available for the EV6. The RWD variant has a single motor and produces 226 bhp and 35.6 kgm. On the other hand, the AWD variant with dual motors produces 345 bhp and 61.7 kgm. Besides this, the EV6 has a maximum range of 528 km (WLTP cycle). We’ll only be able to test it out once we get to drive it in real-world driving conditions. For now, you can read Pablo’s story on the EV6 here.
Kia will provide a full-service package that will make owning an EV6 a breeze. A 3-year warranty will cover the EV6 with unlimited kilometres and an extra 8-year or 1.6-lakh-kilometer battery warranty. For the next 3 years, the firm will also provide 24 by 7 nationwide roadside assistance.
The Kia EV6 will be available at 15 dealerships across 12 cities, all of which will have charging infrastructure. For the convenience of customers, Kia will install 150-kW chargers at all of these EV dealerships. All clients who purchase an EV6 will receive a smart charger with a peak power output of 22 kW as standard, as well as assistance with installation at a location of their choice. Well, Kia has already received 355 bookings, with the deliveries of the AWD variants to begin in September. If you had to choose between the BMW i4 and the Kia EV6 — which one would you pick?
