Skoda has officially confirmed the launch of the Octavia RS in India for later this year. The performance-oriented sedan first made its Indian debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January 2025, and now, Ashish Gupta, brand director of Skoda Auto India, confirmed the development, stating, ‘The Octavia RS is something that we will definitely bring to India this year.’
While a precise launch date hasn’t been revealed, it can be speculated that it could arrive around the festive season, aligning with high consumer demand.
Sportier Styling and RS-Exclusive Features
The upcoming Octavia RS isn’t just a visual upgrade—it’s a full-fledged performance sedan. At the front, it features a blacked-out butterfly grille flanked by sleek LED headlamps—a design cue introduced during the model’s international facelift. The front bumper receives a sportier makeover, too, with sharp lines and aggressive creases that lend it a purposeful, racy appearance.
Other expected RS-specific elements include larger alloy wheels, red brake callipers, a sport-tuned suspension setup, and RS badging throughout the cabin and exterior.
Performance and Powertrain
Under the bonnet, the India-spec Skoda Octavia RS is expected to feature a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, producing 261 bhp and 37.72 kgm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DSG). Skoda claims a 0–100 km/h time of 6.4 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Price and Availability
The new Octavia RS will arrive in India as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit, which means pricing is expected to be on the higher side—likely around ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom). As with previous iterations, it is expected to be launched in limited numbers, although Skoda has yet to reveal the number of units allocated for the Indian market.
