One of the most successful Porsches in India, the Cayenne’s appeal is bound to increase, thanks to the introduction of new Platinum Editions. To be available in both petrol and diesel avatars, the limited edition can be ordered now with deliveries planned to begin next month.
The Cayenne Platinum Edition is priced at Rs 1.06 crore while the Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition Rs 1.08 crore. That’s a difference of about Rs 2 lakhs for the extra goodies, which include 20-inch RS Spyder wheels, wider wheel arches, more liberal use of Alcantara and leather, ‘Platinum Edition’ lettering on the door sills, etc.
Other bits carried over from the standard Cayenne include the Bi-xenon headlamps, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system complete with a BOSE surround sound system, panoramic sunroof, adaptive air suspension, etc.
Engine choices will include a 300 hp, 400 Nm producing petrol on the Cayenne Platinum Edition and a 245 bhp and 550 Nm producing diesel for the Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition. Both will be offered with an 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox.
The Cayenne, characterised by a more sporting dynamics in comparison to competition, was responsible for more than 73,000 sales globally in 2015. In Porsche’s SUV line-up it’s joined by the smaller Macan.
