MG Motor has pulled back the curtains on its all-electric flagship MPV, the M9, set to redefine luxury people-moving in India. With a massive footprint (5,200mm long, 2,000mm wide) that dwarfs rivals like the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire, the M9 combines zero-emission tech with limousine-like comfort.

A front-mounted electric motor delivering 245hp/350Nm draws juice from a 90kWh battery pack. MG claims a 90-minute 10-80% charge via 160kW DC fast chargers, while 11kW AC home charging takes about 10 hours for a full top-up. The M9 also supports V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) charging – a segment-first for India.

The M9’s imposing stance features a split LED lighting setup, 19-inch self-healing Continental tyres, and power-sliding rear doors. Three sophisticated colour options will be offered: Pearl Lustre White, Metal Black, and Concrete Grey. The 945-litre boot (expandable via foldable seats) and 55-litre frunk add to its practicality.

Step inside to a cognac brown leather-suede cabin with 12.3-inch touchscreen (wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto), 7-inch digital cluster, and JBL audio. The pièce de résistance? “Presidential” second-row seats with heating/ventilation/massage, fold-out ottomans, and individual touchscreen controls. A boss mode slides the front passenger seat forward for extra legroom, while rear sunroof, ambient lighting, and manual sunshades complete the lounge experience. Even the third row gets AC vents and USB ports.

MG has loaded the M9 with Level 2 ADAS, 7 airbags, 360-degree camera, and 5-star Euro NCAP-rated crash protection (awaiting Bharat NCAP rating).

With its combination of space, tech, and eco-friendly performance, this electric MPV could be the ultimate chauffeur-driven luxury machine for India’s elite. We’ll be getting behind the wheel of the MG M9 very soon – stay tuned for our first-drive review where we’ll put its real-world range, comfort and features to the test!
