Mark your calendars, performance enthusiasts! Mercedes-Benz India is bringing back its legendary AMG GT 4-Door Coupe lineup with the all-new AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ and its more extreme sibling, the GT 63 Pro, launching on June 27. This marks the triumphant return of AMG’s flagship performance sedan after a five-year absence from Indian shores.
Under the hood, both models come armed with AMG’s thunderous 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, but with different states of tune. The standard GT 63 delivers an impressive 585 bhp and 81.57 kgm of torque, capable of catapulting from 0-100 kph in just 3.2 seconds before reaching its electronically limited top speed of 315 kph. The GT 63 Pro takes performance to the next level with 612 bhp and 86.67 kgm of torque, matching the 0-100 kph sprint time but showing its advantage in the 0-200 kph run, completing it in 10.9 seconds compared to the standard model’s 11.4 seconds, while pushing the top speed slightly higher to 317 kph.

The GT 63 Pro isn’t just about extra power – it comes with serious hardware upgrades that transform its track capabilities. The performance package includes enhanced engine cooling for sustained high-speed runs, carbon-fiber aerodynamic components including a front splitter, rear wing and diffuser for improved downforce. The Pro also benefits from larger brakes for better stopping power, lightweight forged wheels for reduced unsprung weight, and stickier tires for improved grip. These aerodynamic refinements result in 30 kg less front lift and 15 kg additional rear downforce, making the Pro variant more stable at high speeds and more planted through corners.
The second-generation AMG GT has grown substantially in size compared to its predecessor, now measuring 182 mm longer, 45 mm wider and 66 mm taller with a 70 mm longer wheelbase. This growth translates to more interior space, including a practical 2+2 seating configuration and increased luggage capacity. Inside, drivers are treated to an AMG-specific cabin featuring integrated headrest sports seats, a performance steering wheel, and the latest MBUX infotainment system with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 11.9-inch portrait-style central display. The luxurious interior is complemented by ambient lighting and an optional Burmester 3D surround sound system.

Both variants come equipped with Mercedes’ most advanced driving technologies, including active rear-axle steering for improved maneuverability at low speeds and stability at high speeds. The locking differential helps put the power down more effectively, while the AMG active ride control suspension with multiple drive modes (including a dedicated “Race” setting) allows drivers to tailor the car’s behavior to their preferences and driving conditions.
Positioned at the pinnacle of Mercedes-AMG’s performance lineup in India, these models will command premium pricing expected to start north of ₹3 crore for the GT 63, with the GT 63 Pro positioned even higher. In the Indian market, they will compete with other high-performance luxury vehicles like the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS.
With the June 27 launch date fast approaching, the GT 63 and GT 63 Pro combine the raw excitement of AMG’s V8 power with the refinement and technology expected from Mercedes-Benz, creating what promises to be one of the most compelling performance propositions in the Indian market. Whether you’re looking for a thrilling weekend toy or a supremely capable daily driver with racetrack potential, these new AMG models are set to deliver on all fronts.
