The Mahindra Thar three-door has enjoyed immense popularity in India since its debut in 2020. However, the lifestyle SUV has mainly remained unchanged—until now. Fresh spy shots of a camouflaged three-door Thar suggest that a much-anticipated facelift is on the horizon. Expected to draw heavy design inspiration from the Thar Roxx edition, the updated model is expected to debut in the coming months.

Thar three-door facelift

The latest images primarily showcase the rear end of the Thar three-door, revealing vertically stacked tail lamps and central indicator lights reminiscent of the Thar Roxx. Additional design tweaks include a reworked rear bumper and newly designed alloy wheels. Although the front fascia remains under wraps, it is expected to feature the same bold grille as the Roxx, paired with round LED headlights that include C-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs).

Inside, the facelifted Thar could receive significant upgrades, such as ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitoring, a refreshed interior theme, and a new touchscreen infotainment unit, bringing more comfort and convenience to its rugged DNA.

Under the hood, the powertrain options are likely to remain unchanged. These include a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine available in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and four-wheel drive (4×4) formats, with manual and automatic transmission options. The 2.2-litre diesel engine, exclusively paired with 4×4 models, will continue to offer both manual and automatic gearbox options. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel engine, available only in RWD variants, will retain its manual transmission setup.

With these updates, the Mahindra Thar facelift aims to blend off-road capability with modern features, further strengthening its position in the Indian SUV market.
