Mercedes-Benz has launched the facelifted version of the GLC for a starting price of Rs 57.40 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The diesel variant, which is slightly more expensive, comes in at Rs 63.15 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The most notable changes on the 2021 GLC are the update to the Mercedes Me Connect technology and a few additional features, besides. As far as design and powertrains go, the 2021 version remains the same as the 2020 one.
Features-wise, the GLC now comes with a 360-degree camera, front-seat massagers and a new 12.3-inch instrument cluster with three different display styles. Mercedes-Benz India has also added two new paint jobs to the mix – Brilliant Blue and High Tech Silver. By the way, that front-seat massage function comes as standard on the 2021 GLC. In terms of pricing, the 2021 GLC is about 1.5 – 2 lakh more expensive than the outgoing model.
Also, the Mercedes Me Connect tech now allows for integration with Alexa and Google Home. This lets customers remotely control their GLC with the help of their Android or Echo devices. Furthermore, there’s now a provision to display locations of nearby parking lots on the navigation system. The GLC continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol (GLC 200) and a 2.0-litre, diesel (GLC 220d), without any change to the power figures. Currently, the GLC competes with the BMW X3 and Volvo XC60, with the Audi Q5 facelift to join in later this year.
