The prices for the Kia Carens start from Rs 8.99 lakh for the base trim and go all the way up to Rs 16.99 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). These are introductory prices, however. It’s available in Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury and Luxury Plus trims.
The powertrain options include a 113-bhp 1.5-litre petrol, a 113-bhp 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine and a more powerful 138-bhp 1.4-litre turbo-petrol unit. Also, there are three transmission options. The 7-speed dual-clutch auto ‘box is only available on the turbo-petrol engine, while the 6-speed torque converter is available on the diesel engine. The 6-speed manual ‘box is available on all variants, however. All five trims get the powerful 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine, while the 1.5-litre petrol engine is only available on the Premium and Prestige trims. As for the diesel mills, the 1.5-litre with the manual ‘box is available on all trims, but the diesel automatic’s only available on the range-topping Luxury Plus trim.
As far as features go, the Carens got an exhaustive list. First things first, it comes with six airbags as standard along with ABS, ESC, hill start and descent control and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
