Hyundai has expanded its Verna lineup with the launch of a new SX+ variant, priced at ₹13.79 lakh (ex-showroom). This latest trim strategically slots between the mid-range SX and the fully-loaded SX(O), offering buyers an appealing mix of premium features without stretching the budget too far. With this move, Hyundai aims to enhance the Verna’s value proposition in the fiercely competitive midsize sedan segment.

The SX+ retains the Verna’s signature bold styling, including the dramatic parametric grille, sharp LED daytime running lamps, and the sleek, coupe-like silhouette that has come to define the current-generation model. But the real draw lies inside, where the SX+ builds upon the SX variant by incorporating several creature comforts that elevate the in-cabin experience.

Key highlights of the SX+ variant include an electric sunroof, a wireless phone charger, an auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror (IRVM), and plush leatherette upholstery—features that were previously exclusive to the top-end SX(O) trim. These additions make the SX+ an attractive middle ground for buyers who desire a more premium touch but don’t necessarily want to opt for the most expensive model in the range.

Under the hood, the Verna SX+ is available with two engine options. Buyers can choose between a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 113 bhp and 14.35 kgm—available with a 6-speed manual or an IVT automatic—or a more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit that delivers 158 bhp and 25.32 kgm, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. This powertrain flexibility ensures that the SX+ caters to both comfort-focused drivers and those looking for more spirited performance.

In terms of competition, the SX+ finds itself up against other strong contenders in the segment, including the Honda City V (₹13.43 lakh), Skoda Slavia Ambition 1.0 TSI (₹13.69 lakh), and the Volkswagen Virtus Highline 1.0 TSI (₹13.98 lakh). With its fresh blend of style, features, and value, the Verna SX+ strengthens Hyundai’s hand in the midsize sedan game. The new variant is now available at Hyundai dealerships across India.
