Honda has taken the wraps off the all-new WR-V, based on the Honda Concept RS SUV that was showcased in 2021. Launched for the Indonesian market, the new model gets two styling packages, the WR-V E with basic features and 16-inch alloy wheels, and a sportier WR-V RS version with 17-inch alloys, red accents, a new grille and all-black interiors.
The second-generation WR-V sits on the same platform that underpinned the previous-gen City and the latest Amaze sold in India. It measures 4060 mm in length, 1780 mm in width, and 1608 mm in height and its wheelbase is 2485 mm. The crossover also offers a ground clearance of 220 mm and has a 380-litre boot.
As per the first look images, the WR-V gets all-black interiors with a conventional twin-dial instrument cluster. The car further comes with six airbags and is loaded with Honda Sensing ADAS tech. This includes features like Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lead Car Departure Notification and Auto High Beam.
In Indonesia, the WR-V is offered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 119 bhp at 6600 rpm and 14.7 kgm at 4300 rpm. The engine is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT. This powertrain setup is the same as seen on the Honda City in India, but it is yet to be seen if the new WR-V will enter the Indian market.
