After sharing a number of teasers online, BMW has finally launched the first-ever first-ever 2 Series Gran Coupé in India. The company has priced the 2 Series Gran Coupé from Rs 39.30 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom) to 41.40 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). There are two trims on offer – Sport Line and M Sport. Under the hood, 2 Series Gran Coupé gets a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, twin-turbo diesel engine which produces 187 bhp and 40.7 kgm of torque. This engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. 0 to 100 km/hr is claimed to come up in just 7.5 seconds.

Design-wise, BMW’s 2 Series Gran Coupé gets a sloping roof at the back, angular LED headlamps and frameless doors all around. The panoramic sunroof comes as standard and the illuminated trim along with the driver-focused cockpit make for a typical BMW experience. There’s also the ambient lighting, Parking Assist with Reverse Assist and BMW’s Live Cockpit Professional (12.3-inch). The latest from BMW India also has four driving modes and launch control. Furthermore, BMW officials tell us that the 2 Series Gran Coupé is locally produced at the company’s Chennai factory. This would be the 12th BMW to fall in that list so far.

Apart from this, BMW India is also offering customisable finance options along with flexible service plans. The 2 Series Gran Coupé comes in four colour options – Alpine White (non-metallic), Black Sapphire, Melbourne Red and Storm Bay. The Sport Line trim also has Seaside Blue as an exclusive colour. The M Sport, on the other hand, gets two exclusive colours – Misano Blue and Snapper Rocks. Customers can further choose from three upholstery colours – Sensatec Oyster, Black and Sensatec Black and Black. Last but not least, the boot space measures in at 430 litres but can be expanded by folding down the 40/20/40 split rear seat backrest.
