Citroen has rolled out the first C5 Aircross from the company’s manufacturing facility in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. As most of you may know, the C5 Aircross will be the French automaker’s first product in India. Moreover, online rumours suggest that the SUV will be up for sale as early as March. The C5 Aircross is based on PSA’s EMP2 platform, which underpins of other Citroen modes like the Berlingo MPV.
The C5 Aircross SUV will be powered by a 2.0-litre, turbo-diesel engine capable of producing 178-bhp. This motor will come mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Folks at Citroen claim to have tested the Aircross for over 2.5 lakh kilometres in different terrains and varied weather conditions across India. Folks at Citroen tell us that it will get goodies like a panoramic sunroof, active parking assist, a unique Grip Control System and a whole lot more.
Then there’s also the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Progressive Hydraulic Cushion, ‘Advanced Comfort’ seats with memory foam, hands-free boot opening function and a blind spot monitoring system.
