The Renault Duster just got a shot in the arm with a new 154 bhp, 1.3-litre turbo-petrol under its hood. That makes it the most powerful car in its class! You can have the new turbo-petrol duster with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT with simulated gears. If this sounds familiar, it’s the same powertrain that’s found in the new Nissan Kicks turbo-petrol.
Not much has changed on the Duster in terms of the way it looks. It does get a new Crimson Blue paint scheme and red accents on the front grille, boot, roof rails and fog lamps. If you want to tell the new turbo-petrol variant apart from its naturally aspirated brethren, look to the wheels. The RXS and RXZ variants of the Duster sport new 17-inch diamond-cut alloys. As part of the update, the Duster also gets a tri-winged chrome grille, skid plates on dual-tone front bumpers, projector headlamps with LED DRLs and LED taillights.
Inside, the Duster now gets midnight black seats with glazed blue touches. Also part of the update are some soft-touch plastics on the dashboard and door pads. You also get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto paired to an Arkamys sound system with four speakers and two tweeters. Other nifty features like cruise-control and auto start/stop also make their way into the Duster. On the safety front, it gets ABS+EBD, dual front airbags, and rear parking sensors as standard.
The Duster is also available with a naturally aspirated 105 bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine and is priced starting at Rs 8.59 lakh, while the turbo-petrol version starts from Rs 10.49 lakh. Here’s a complete price list of all the variants on offer.
