Skoda has updated the Superb in India, with a number of changes to its equipment list and just one cosmetic change. The latter is a new steering wheel design, while the former includes adaptive LED headlamps, Virtual Cockpit, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and wireless charger. On the full-blown Laurin and Klement (L&K) variant, there’s now a 360-degree camera and hands-free parking as well.
The Superb continues to be powered by the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol unit. The motor, which comes mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, churns out 187-bhp of peak power. As far as rivals go, the Skoda Superb competes with the Toyota Camry Hybrid, which is currently priced at Rs 39.41 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Czech automaker has priced the Sportline variant at Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Laurin and Klement (L&K) variant retails at Rs 34.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This revised pricing for 2021 has made the updated Superb almost Rs 2 lakh dearer, which is a lot, to say the least. However, there is a lot more standard kit on offer, which is definitely a good thing. So, do you feel the extra cash is justified?
