Bentley has introduced the Batur Convertible, marking the third coachbuilt Bentley crafted by Mulliner, following the bespoke Bacalar Barchetta and Batur coupe. The latest coachbuilt grand-tourer showcases Bentley’s heritage while also pushing design boundaries.
The Batur Convertible retains Bentley’s iconic hand-assembled 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 mill, which produces a whopping 739 bhp and 101 kgm of torque, mated to an 8-speed double-clutch transmission.
Bentley states that the W12 receives upgraded turbos, internal coolers and a complete recalibration to ensure that the engine is capable of producing nearly 40 per cent of its power, despite being in the economy mode which has, according to Bentley increased by 25 per cent.
Mulliner’s designers crafted the Batur Convertible with a two-door, two-seat configuration with a retractable roof, which can be deployed or stowed in 19 seconds, transforming the Bentley from a coupe to an open-top GT. The vehicle comes embellished with printed rose gold accents adorning key driver touchpoints.
The convertible’s exterior is adorned with carbon-black ascents that are witnessed through the distinctive grille, bespoke rims and the overall finish of the Batur convertible.
Mulliner also offers extensive customization options for the Batur Convertible, allowing clients to co-create a custom-made vehicle. Customers can personalise every aspect of their car from paint choices to bespoke materials and finishes. Bentley states that the only limitation is the customer’s imagination. Bentley Mulliner has also collaborated with expert goldsmiths to craft unique parts that are available to customers as an add-on to their custom Bentley.
The Bentley Batur is going to be a rather rare car with just 16 units to be produced globally. Count your lucky stars if even one of them makes its way here!
