This is far from a regular update to the Santa Fe. Hyundai has changed a whole lot about it, starting with its underpinnings. The Santa Fe now rides on a new platform. Hyundai claims that this will make the Santa Fe handle sharper than before. Read exciting to drive.
The new front-end looks striking and a bit intimidating as well. Those T-shaped LED DRLs and the large cascading grille set the tone for the rest of the design. Completing the looks are its brawny wheel arches and optional 20-inch alloys. The rear-end is comparatively mellow compared to its front fascia.
Hyundai has not revealed the powertrain options yet, but we do know that it will get smart hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. Inside, you’ll see a new drive-by-wire system instead of an automatic gear-shift selector, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. Talk about evolution!
It’s been a while since the Santa Fe’s departure from the Indian market, but we sure wouldn’t mind if Hyundai were to bring this generation of Santa Fe to our market.
