The 3 Series continues to be among BMW’s most famous cars globally, and the Bavarian car maker has decided to give it a set of upgrades for 2024, which focuses mainly on the interiors and the tech side of things. This explains why the 2024 BMW 3 Series doesn’t look all that different, but honestly, it’s still a great design.

Since the major changes are on the inside, let’s get there right away. You’ll notice the centre console now does away with physical buttons, which means functions for adjusting the temperature, fan speed, and steering wheel heating are now accessible via a widget on the 14.9-inch touch screen. The 2024 BMW 3 Series retains its blended screen setup, and it runs on the latest operating system, the BMW OS 8.5. It also features a redesigned heated steering wheel, new ambient lighting designs with colour and brightness adjustability, open door alert and incoming call alerts as well.

Apart from the new 19-inch double-spoke M light alloy rims, and new paint schemes, there isn’t much to talk about when it comes to the exteriors. However, the car maker has made changes to the chassis for increased comfort, such as stiffer mounting points for the rear damper, and a faster steering in comfort mode.

The plug-in hybrid version of the 3 Series benefits from a larger 19.3 kWh battery pack, which now makes it capable of covering 101 km in EV mode. Powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine which works in tandem with a gearbox-mounted electric motor, the 3 Series plug-in hybrid produces 288 bhp and 42.82 kgm of torque. However, the 3 Series plug-in hybrid is unlikely to make it here in the near future.

There is no official word from BMW on when this updated 3 Series could make it to Indian showrooms, but we expect an announcement in the coming few months.
